Frank Bentley - Boats Passing Hermit Hole Harbour
Frank is a self-taught painter who has developed his own contemporary naïve style, mixing vibrant colour and composition. His love of the sea fires his creative output which is not entirely produced from the conscious imagination, but based on doodles and drawings from his unconscious mind, rediscovering the lost innocence of childhood. Frank has exhibited widely throughout the UK and recently in the USA.

"Although I live some sixty miles from the sea, I’ve always found the British coastline and its harbours an interesting place to be. I’ve had a yearning to live on the coast for the past thirty years, so it’s no surprise that I have a compulsive passion for painting my very own seaside places, I just find them a more fascinating subject to create. Even my picture titles are often place names taken from maps and jumbled together. I’m creating picture postcards of my imaginative places; only the artefact is real".
