Michael Bernard
Hampshire based Mike Bernard trained at The Royal Academy Schools and
has been a professional artist all his working life. 
His uncanny feel for composition is truly recognised in his collage painting style using paper cuttings to create the overall structure of the composition and overlapping this with paint. The result simply transports the viewer to the scene, also enhanced by detailing - telephone wire, old lights, drying washing etc.
Mike delights in capturing the mood of Devon and Cornwall, in particular the fishing villages, and in contrast regularly depicts the warmth and glow of southern Italy.
