Francis Farmar
Francis
Farmar lives in a quiet corner of south-west Wiltshire where he draws
inspiration from the landscape of rolling downs, woods, coasts, farms
and fields close to his home.
He makes frequent visits abroad, not only to Europe where Italy, Spain and France are favourite haunts, but also further afield to U.S.A, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia, India and Australia, travelling with his wife Jane.
Wherever he goes Francis attempts to capture the season and atmosphere
of each place. Following a long tradition of bird's-eye panoramas stretching
back to the sixteenth century, Francis tries to embrace more than can
be seen from a single viewpoint, pulling and bending the landscape to
reveal a broader vision filled with incident.
