Anna Macmiadhachain
Although Anna was born in Hampstead, London, she originates from the west country and this is very much reflected in her paintings. Anna now lives in Dorset with her friends, family and animals around her. She has found this to be one of the most creative and stimulating periods in her painting life and her work is greatly admired both locally and nationally. The charming seascapes - with the familiar cliffs, boats and lighthouse were a "sell-out" at the annual Contemporary Art Show in Islington.
Her new paintings have an internal rhythm that she feels reflects the rounded smoothness of the Dorset hills and cliffs and the colours of the changing seasons.
"One constant thread that merrily winds its way through the history of British art is the genre of primitive naive paintings, Indeed, how could one begin to assess British art without looking at the work of Wallis & Lowry?"
Anna paints firmly and confidently within this tradition, in a style uncluttered by theory: simple & direct.
The Mulberry Tree Gallery has a small collection of Anna's work which can purchased from our website - either framed, mounted or unframed.
