Sarah Nicol has over ten years of design experience. 'I create my beautiful and innovative designs from a studio over looking the Malvern Hills, though my work regularly takes me on trips near and far, gathering inspiration and sourcing exotic materials.'
Based in Malvern, Worcestershire, Sarah Nicol and Peter O’Neil work
together on these functional decorated ceramics.
The coloured slips on the clay create a fabric-like feel that echoes
the embroidered wool and linen of the textile pieces that inspired
them.
Sarah had formally been creating tapestries and textile products depicting
journeys taken through different landscapes and has recently transferred
her ideas to ceramics.
These are made using a technique that gives them a very pleasing and
unusual texture.
Their slightly squashed shape and their charming and slightly naïve
seaside designs also makes them a bit out-of-the ordinary. All pieces
are glazed inside and dishwasher safe.
