Glass
We currently keep a stock of glassware in vibrant and bright designs.
Featured on this page is the work of Margaret Johnson and Aline Johnson.
Margaret Johnson
Margaret
Johnson obtained a BA Hons in Fine Art & Sculpture at Goldsmith's College,
part of London University, 1974-1978. A post graduate course at Exeter
University followed in 1981.
After a long period in teaching in both schools and adult education she
decided to develop her own ideas.
A great deal of time has been spent painting in watercolours and she is
currently exploring the use of colour, texture & form with the translucency
of glass with an unusual technique involving the use of straw silk fibre.
The glass used is recycled and each item is unique.
Aline Johnson
Although
Aline works from her studio at Cockpit Arts in London, her inspiration
is fuelled by her affinity for the Jurassic coast of Dorset where she
spends a lot of her time.
She designs and produces a range of fused and kiln-formed glass tableware, lighting and vases which she sells through galleries in the UK, Europe and USA.
The vibrant palette of beach paraphernalia, stripes on windbreaks and seaside rock translate with ease into bright designs in fused glass.
